The Winged Knight
“. .Of pure heart and heavenly divine. .do I arrive. .”
Overview
One of many fabled siblings, the Winged Knight, also known as the ‘Luminous Man’ are truly an rare occurance in the Mirrasil lands, albeit not unheard of. This powerful being have been known to present themselves in the southernmost regions of the world and may very well come down to areas prominent of magical energies and large populaces of people. The nearly omniscient being maintains full sentience and control over its every action. While it is not a god, it is surely an ancient being with powers near nigh impossible to measureable to a mortal for its power is beyond our capability.
Although its supremacy over Man and Mortal alike, it does not flaunt, nor is it condescending about such a power and instead resorts to a simple life of flying and engaging in immense build up of knowledge. This powerful, fabled being is known by cultists to be a sort of god and therefore a religion has infact been built up by the creature. While the being does not typically provide boons, it has been very seldom that the dragon has blessed a mortal or his holdings, but when it does it is known for it to be very potent.
“. .My wings are instruments of my body, as swords are extensions of your arms, but I must ask, can your swords destroy an entire city in one fell swoop?. .Just curious. .”
The warrior would smile if it could, its luminous eyes glittering and flickering like a dying sun.
One could betray the smile for kindredship, almost fatherly in appearance as it looked upon the mortal general.
“Mine can.”
Said a mortal, their red plumed helmet held formidably against his side as it stood at attention, a pilum in his other hand as it gazed cruelly upon the angelic figure. His tanned face tattered and worn by a recent battle. Patches of dirt and mud arraying his bare skin that which was not covered by
“My sword is my army.”
In spontaneity did the creature boom out with a prosaic voice which caused men to shudder and feel a shiver down their spines to the very core. It’s eyes galvanized as it spake wisdom.
“Impudence is foolish, take wisdom from the Ancients; You are not almighty, Mortal. Bend the knee as one would call upon the rest of the world, remember this now, there is always something bigger and better than you. .”
“. .Such is wisdom, not hatred, nor disrespect, mine Elder.”
The general shakily bent the knee, not our of fear but of reverence and understanding, he set the pilum down to the ground. As the mortal set his helmet down, the massive beast in front of him arose and blew a plume of light which was considerably very hot directly into the air with exceeding precision. As men were about to look, the beings bright intangible wings had drawn into the air with an energized swoop, fluttering into a winged pace into the night. Nigh a minute later did the men hear it’s radiant call into the night. Men could swear the stars looked brighter that eve’.
Appearance
This being is only as big as a house, and are typically clad in an intangible form of armor. Most well known for the armor to be radiant and nearly blinding at the beginning of their entrance, and towards the end similar to a cooling ember. The beings back is arrayed with golden, bright wings making it look slightly angelic. It bears no true face but merely a sculpted visage similar to eyes and a mouth, both of which glow golden, and are similar to sockets in shape which seem like molten metal to the core. Their hair is just as radiant, some could swear that its hair has alchemical abilities.
Location
Within the southernmost provinces of the Mirrasil continents, this angelic figure typically swoops along and gazes upon the world. Doing nothing but quaintly drink water or eat bread harmlessly, albeit it does not need to it is just preference to him to act similar to that of a mortal for the reason that he is beyond omniscient.
Areas of excess evil cause this being to move away, and furthermore do not hold the presence of the Luminous Man. This is a permanent stain that the being keeps in mind eternally.
Necessary conditions, etc.
Behavior
The Winged Knight tends to never ensue combat ever, it is not like him. If he is forced to combat, he will never attempt to kill a person, but if he does it by accident, it is typically painless. He throws beams of bright light which typically ‘taze’ or cause a person to fall unconscious.
But knowing that, the being is typically very peaceful, but just looks like a very legendary being.
Final Notes
This being has been known to bless the masses with information regarding magics, and bestow teachings on life, and pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, its hair has been known to have very powerful regenerating properties, which can seal and heal some of the most severe wounds, such as being impaled, severed legs, which it can heal, provided the appendage is brought back. However it cannot heal a decapitated head, for some reason it simply does not work, most likely the immense severity of the situation.
For a day after the being has arrived, the area is completely devoid of undead beings of any kind. Along with that, the area is especially hallowed and plants grow very well in the area for a week after, and normally bless the province with a clean, great harvest.
