Overview

Pillars in the Overworld [Mirrasil] that are basically anchors to the Underworld [The Abyss], which are known to constantly summon beasts from the Abyss, twisted amalgamations that ‘guard’ the Pillars from unknown catastrophe caused by the common races or natives. If defeated, these pillars instantly reappear somewhere that they can feed off of life sources. Fights with these abyssal creations from the land below are seen as helpless endeavors due to the pure amount of creatures that arise from it.



Appearance

These eighteen foot tall pillars commonly come in a shade of void black, and are seemingly with the same cold feeling of marble. It’s structure is seemingly hex-like as if it were crystalline, the longer these pillars are able to stand up the more powerful and complex they become. From the foundation of such a pillar are tentacle-like feelers that give the structure more strength to stay grounded. These feelers are dark red in color and seemingly latch to the ground like one would stablize a chain.



In the surrounding area of one of these within a miles distance, a pillar of purple blighted light is likely seen shooting up into the air, signifying the location of one of these structures, the sky in the affected area is also seen to be similar to that of space and time, stars coming closer and planets seemingly align in vestige of these pillars. Around these structures are typically native cultists that take ritualistic combat to the extreme and fight the abyssal hordes to attain enlightenment.



Location

These abyssal pillars are known to be in about two to three places in one landmass. Normally either in an open plane, or in the outskirts of towns and villages. In very few instances are they found underground however as these do not allow the Pillars to leech energy like they normally would above-ground.



On mountains, these massive pillars have been known to spawn some magnificient evils from the abyssal realm. This is a seldom occurence but not unheard of, when it does happen the enhanced skies are not visible at any means.





Physical Appearance

What does it look like?

In specifics, it is a very tall, nearly twenty foot tall pillar of a void-black, marble-like substance which has multiple chains that hold it down to the earth. Crimson tentacles latch to the ground from its formidable foundation. In the air surrounding it, there is a blighted substance that shrouds the ozone and causes space and time come into play.

Features;

The pillars cause the air around them to constrict and causes the air to become harder to breath. Furthermore, bright pillars of light shoot towards the sky and cause the sky to clear and be similar to a high-resolution projection of space and the universe, and sometimes visages into the Abyss.



Furthermore, the crimson feelers-tentacles around the base of these pillars contort and summon creatures from the abyss, and if they latch onto something, begins to sap their energy and Mana.



If destroyed, or toppled to the ground the pillars explode with magical energies and even cause a tangible entrance to the Abyss for a very short time. These entrances to the Abyss can also be an exit, so be careful.
