Equinians
Other names:
Moonlit Archers
Starfighters
Hooved Nomads
Wind Rogues
Origin:
It is said these creatures originated as distant cousins of the Amasis, although it is most likely false. No one is sure how they came to be, as they seem to be made by some form of magic.
Stories:
There are plenty of different stories about the Equinians, telling of heroes who befriend the creatures and ride into battle on their backs. The Equinians laugh at these stories, as they usually do not allow themselves to be touched by non-Equinians, and laugh at allowing themselves to be ridden.
Location:
They are found throughout the native lands, scattered across the world. They’re found in the flatlands of the world, making small communities and camps. They don’t often make a permanent residence anywhere. They simply wander about.
Behavior:
Neutral. Just like a person, these creatures have personalities. They differ just like usual people.
Rarity:
Common- Uncommon
Depending on if you know where to look.
Physical Appearance:
Alike normal beings, they come in all of the human colors and textures of skin, hair, and eyes.
Their equine colors are limited to real life horse colors. Their equine half can differ in breed, alike usual horses. Height differs from gender to breed, but they are usually 5’9-6’8, due to their horse half. They weigh 950-1900 pounds. They are quite quick creatures, running the speed of their equine half. They are usually found armed with bow, though they are more than capable of running someone down in a trample attack.
Location
(Where is it found? How does it thrive in the environment? Necessary conditions, etc.)
As stated before, they are found in the flatlands. They thrive in this particular biome due to the resources found. They generally limit their diet to rodents, snake and things they find growing. As they are nomadic, it is rare to see a herd plant crops, although they could if they wished to.
Behavior
These creatures are not tamable, as they are just intelligent as regular races. Their behavior differs Equinian to Equinian, as each of them are different. They can be befriended.
Reproduction:
They do not reproduce in a specific season, as they are always in season. They act like regular people often enough, and generally only reproduce with a chosen mate. They feel emotion, and are usually in love with the mate they choose.
Lifespan:
Equinians generally live 170-200 years. Their young, called foals, mature two times slower than the average human. They are considered physically mature at 40, but mentally mature closer to 64.
Celebrations:
Equinians can be found nearly every night doing their own dance of praise to the night sky.
They celebrate every solstice with pride.
They celebrate birth of young, and death of a herd member.
They also celebrate the descent into adulthood for their young.
