If you cannot take criticism with high levels of cursing involving the 's' word and 'c' word (crap!!) don't read.
This is likely going to be one of the most unpopular statement this server will have for quite a bit, ladies and gentlemen. So before I hear the following later from someone's echochamber (Your little skype chats where you speak your minds regarding someone, don't tell me you haven't done it, it happens, we all know it happens.)
"Raphael, you're such an asshole for posting this, how dare you think this about us?"
Stop, stop right now and contemplate exactly what my issue is, and read the opinion at which myself and many others feel.
"Okay, fine, we'll listen. What is the problem you have Ralph?"
Glad to tell you, I'm here to tell you how absolutely crappy it is to work as a lonewolf with a crew of your own. Or to work with the Explorers themselves.
There is currently '0' attributes or boons to joining the Explorers, which are supposed to be properly equipped gentlemen.
When I/others attempt to work out our own and do well for ourselves, its indefinitely screwed over. "You can't have this, you can't have that!"
Why the hell not?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm not sure if this occurs to anyone; but there is /no/ negatives to working for the natives. Absolutely none. You have medics if you need them, you have hug-box protecting magicians which stop the 'big bad wolves' known as people who dislike the hugbox (Which is very, very apparent.) from doing shit that actually allows for progression to happen instead of the DM's and the current loreteam having to push on the hugbox to do stuff and herd them around like sheep while the 'big bad wolf' is trying to get stuff done.
The only reason about 90% of the people go to the natives, is for the OOC promise of learning magic. Nothing more. No one really likes them beyond that point. They are beyond useless to the plot at that point and so far the only thing that stops me and others from ridding them from the territory is overused roman tactics and magic involved in it even though they're lowkey primitives.
This opinion isn't new, it's been there since nearly the start of the server. There are no negatives for joining the natives, they retain a hugbox externally, and to me, honestly, the Explorers get shafted every moment of the way. There is little to no damns given about people who appreciate low levels of aggression or political change and export. People are afraid of people making empires or massive armies.
Let me tell you something about how those empires and massive armies happen in RP servers.
They start when people don't give a damn, or don't seem to give a damn about a singular group of people, those people get tired of getting shafted everytime they try to get something done. They happen when they're neglected.
Recently, I was told I could not create a handheld weapon, I wasn't joking. I'm not going to cover that up. And you know why I wanted to make it? I wanted to make it to protect myself from the crap that protects the hugbox when it came for our guys. We can't fight our fights with wooden and stone shit all the time, we can't always fight with bows and arrows, and we definitely can't deal with this shit about "oh the explorers have iron stuff but you can't though for some.................reason!" There is no reason, it needs to change honestly because that's exactly what happens. People get neglected by this sort of crap.
I don't care at this point if you think that the natives /don't/ protect the hugbox, they do, and me and ALOT of people are tired of it.
And lastly, if someones going to attack a settlement or sack a settlement, get a damn staff member to be present, and the person that lives there.
This opinion, as a lasting rendition, is not just my own, and it's been in culmination literally since the start of the server. I've mentioned it in two meetings where a lot of the populace was present; NOTHING was done to remedy it.
