Sun Drum
Description:
The Sun Drum, also known as the phoenix Lilly is another flower of legend, this being complete opposing energy of the Mana Bell. Their properties however are quiet different. The legends behind the Phoenix Lilly are not as grand as that of it's polar opposite, however its nature is that of healing, and the sun.
Legend: The story of the Sun Drum however similar in nature, differs from its counterpart the Mana Bell. From its original telling, the story is told through the perspective of a village person who is said to have remembered the flowers discovery.
Physical appearance:
Just like it's lunar counterpart. This flower is extremely rare, and found in places only known for large amounts of sunlight. While it's roots are much shorter than its counterpart, they are thicker to protect the seed pod at it's base. If removed the seed pod will drop off to allow planting once again, and is the only way this plant spreads. The stalk sprouts from the ground, reaching over a foot tall from ground to flower tip. This flower has usually 5-6 leaves, which spread upwards to absorb as much sunlight as possible, the color of the stalk and leaves can only be described as "golden". As one reaches the flower's bud, they would be able to notice the similarities between the Mana Bell, and the Sun Drum. The solar counterpart seems to glow in sunlight, almost radiating it's energy. It's petals, are an array of golden hues, often described as burning gold, or the surface of the sun. To top it off, during the hours of the night, the flower has a protecting mechanism to shield it from the cold of its natural environment. The light that it had absorbed during the day will burn off as a golden light during the evening to keep the plant from becoming to cold. If someone were to ever touch this flower, it could be said to feel warm, if not almost hot to the touch.
Properties:
-Dangerous to touch at night, although easier to locate. The flower burns off the excess "sunlight" it absorbed during the day to keep it warm during the colder nights. This makes it hazardous to touch.
-The locations this flower can be found in are harsh in climate. It is often wise to prepare fully for the journey before advancing to search for this flower, or else death will be the only thing one will find.
-This flower cannot be moved from its environment, just like the Mana Bell. One should bring the proper equipment if they wish to distill its properties into its potion.
-The beautiful but dangerous appearance of this flower is what allows it to be called the Phoenix Lilly. Some hold this flower in holy regard, and one should always because about speaking ideas or intentions to find it.
Location:
Due to the Sun Drum's extremely warm nature. This flower cannot survive anywhere that is not extremely warm or dry. Humid, damp, or cold climates will cause this flower to shrivel and die. Scholars have determined that this flower is only capable of growing near volcanic bodies, or within the harsh climate of the desert. To attempt the flowers removal or plantation elsewhere would only be foolish, causing failure to grow, or simply causing the moved flower to die. The Sun Drum requires considerable sunlight to survive, so one will often find it out in the open and away from other plants due to it's burning nature. To journey and find this plant is in it's self a risk, trying to collect it however is a whole other feat.
Medical Uses:
Similar to its lunar twin, with enough knowledge and skill this flower can be used to create a potent elixir that will aid in healing rather bothersome ailments. This potion however is not known as a god miracle or any such nonsense, the most this flower has been seen to heal is a large burn over a series of 4 weeks. The process for the healing is long, and somewhat painful, it will NOT aid in healing death dealing wounds or illnesses. The process of taking this potion is also extremely exhausting, draining the energy from the one who drinks it. The potion has been known however to help heal infection, cuts, burns, small ailments that affect the body, and so forth.
Alchemy Uses:
As stated in the medical section, with enough knowledge and experience based around alchemy, one can create a potion for healing small ailments and injuries. The processes for creating this potion is a well protected secret, as it could be the protection against a dangerous situation. The only knowledge well spread is the possibility of its location, and the fact that i cannot be moved. It has never been told how to create the elixir, nor how to collect the flower itself due to it's burning nature.
(OOC side note):
Due to the nature of this plant, it would be up to the Dm to allow for its location, or rarity. Be aware that it may take a few tries to locate, and its dangerous nature is something to look out for.
