Snakes Blossom
Overview
Snake's Blossom, named for the way the blossoms split like a snake's tongue is a highly volatile and rare plant. Because of the danger of this plant, little is known, but there have been discovered ways to brew the dried petals of the plant into a spicy and flavorful tea, to craft the ground roots of the plant into an explosive, and also if one is careful, one can ferment the plant and produce a very potent alcohol.
What kind of plant is it?
This is a perennial flower
Basic Description
The plant grows low to the ground in large patches which in bloom, almost look like the area is ablaze. The plant is best used in the creation of explosives and culinary practices.
Positives and Negatives of Snakes Blossom:
+A Rich and Spicy Flavor
+/- Strong Alcoholic potential
+It's pretty to look at
-Short blooming period
-The plant is not domesticatable.
-When the processed flowers come into contact with gluten or lactose (Basically anything with wheat or milk) They burst into flame. This has been noticed in most cases to cause someone who has consumed the plant and something with gluten or lactose to explode. But if you don't have dairy or wheat products an hour before or an hour after consuming the plant, we're pretty sure you'll only get indigestion.
+The roots can be used to create explosives for mining
-The stem and leaves are poisonous and must not be consumed.
These are highly Uncommon and are yet to be discovered in Mirrasil
Physical Appearance
The plants range from 3 inches to 8 inches in height, making them a rather short, sturdy plant. When these flower, which is only a few weeks of the year at a time, the blooms are a vibrant red with orange flecks. The leaves are a golden-orange in color, and this seems to be the natural coloration of the plant as opposed to a normal green expected from foliage.
Development
This plant tends to grow in very dry climates where there is little rain or water available, preferring sandy or clay soils.
What conditions does it need to survive?
No research shows what is needed for a Snake's Blossom Plant to survive because every attempt to domesticate or research the plant has resulted in killing it.
Uses
Is it even safe to eat?
The Snakes Blossom is safe to consume if properly prepared. In order to prepare snakes blossom, one must dry the plant entirely, and separate the flower from the stem, leaves, and roots. The Roots, Stem, and Leaves are not safe for consumption
What can be made from/with it?
From the dried bloom, one can make a rich and spicy tea, or a potent alcohol.
The roots, can when dried be powdered and used to create an explosive with a strength similar to TNT. This effect is similar if the blooms come into contact with lactose or gluten, which results in an explosion about 3 meters in radius, which is often fatal if it occurs inside a person.
