The girl stood atop the seaside bluff, a gentle breeze ruffling her hair. She placed her curious, doe-eye to the lens of her telescope; she was now able to see the vast firmament of stars and sky above her with much more clarity. She had already charted these celestial points of light, and was just gazing at them with admiration this time. She withdrew her vision from the telescope to gawk at the scene above her with naturality, how it was meant to be viewed. There, in the dark sky, a glittering comet was passing. Though typically viewed as an omen, the comet struck no fear into the heart of this girl. She simply curled her full lips at the sight, basking in the glory of the night. She closed her warm, chocolate-brown eyes, breathing in the warm air. Lingering on the wind was the scent of night-blooming jasmine, which caused the girl to become ever-so slightly drowsy. She decided it was time to go to bed, for she had lost much sleep due to her nightly stargazing. Sighing, she’d begin to make her way down the bluff and onto the beach. She’d feel the grit of the sand against her bare feet, the ocean zephyrs fluttering her simple white gown. Then, the girl would commence taking long strides into the sea itself. Slowly, the gown would fall away and in it’s place would be a sparkling, silky fishtail, complete with a few bioluminescent scales detailing her entire body. The girl was one who came from the sea. Continuing her walk into the ocean, she would eventually be swallowed up by the waves. The glow from the bioluminescence would be spotted for a few more brief moments until the ethereal luminosity flickered out beneath the water.
